Bought a new camera a couple weeks ago, and have been using it for Astrophotography. It is a DSLR, a Canon Rebel T3. I thought I would try taking some general interest pictures with it, and that led me to a small neighborhood south of New Castle, PA, called "Mahoningtown". There is a CSX yard there, as well as some static displays of a few pieces of railroad hardware and buildings, so I thought I would try those. It was a bright sunny day in the wintertime with about an inch of snow on the ground. I processed all of these images using some HDR toning, but kept them real. The first image that everyone who have seen it really seemed to like is the Switch Tower:
The next image is of a Pennsylvania Railroad caboose located across the street....
And the 3rd of this series is a pair of operating CSX diesel's. They were running, waiting to go when I photographed these in the CSX yard.
Trains seem to be a popular photographic target, so I thought I would try my hand at them.
